What this program is

Patio is a software platform for real-estate agents and brokerages. Patio account holders can choose to receive recurring informational and operational text messages from their brokerage via Patio — office announcements, transaction and commission updates, and task reminders. Messages are only sent to users who explicitly opt in. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

How a user opts in

  1. During account setup, the “Text notifications” step shows a mobile-number field — prefilled from the account profile and editable on the form itself.
  2. Below the number is a consent checkbox that is unchecked by default. Its label names the message types and includes frequency, rates, and STOP/HELP instructions, with links to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  3. Consent is granted only by checking the box and pressing “Turn on text notifications”. Skipping the step is a first-class option and nothing is recorded. Consent is not a condition of using Patio.
  4. On opt-in, Patio records the phone number, the date and time of consent, and the exact version of the consent language shown — an auditable consent record.
